Podcast

A podcast is a series of digital media files, usually digital audio or video, that is made available for download via Web syndication. The syndication aspect of the delivery is what differentiates podcasts from other files accessible by direct download or streaming: it means that special software applications, generically known as podcatchers can automatically identify and retrieve new files associated with the podcast when they are made available, and that these files can be stored locally on the user's computer or other device for offline use. This is the definition that wikipedia gave me and it made it a lot easier for me to understand. Podcasts make distance learning easier and very helpful!

WebQuest

The webquest was a lot of fun to create a lesson plan and keep everything organized. I really liked that you could personalize your evaluation and use a step by step approach. I will definitly consider purchasing the full version of this software and use it in my future.

You Tube: Yahtzee!

Youtube is such a useful tool to search for all kinds of videos and music. It works great for teaching and it's very easy to post to a powepoint or a blog! I have recently stopped downloading and purchasing music because Youtube is so convenient and free!

iGoogle

Not only does iGoogle look awesome but it is so useful! Just a quick log in and you have: current temperature and forecast, time and date, news updates, featured videos, rss feeds, gmail account updates, buddy chatting, and the list goes on and on. This is a great compilation of useful quick facts and information.

Wiki/Doc prompts

WOW! I want to start by saying this is an awesome program and makes and saves time with easy communication. The day we used it in class was very simple and saved us a lot of time. We were all able to add our part to our paper and save it to the same name. It appeared almost immediatly so we could tell what needed to be done. These prompts are so useful in group project settings. I overheard someone in a class say that he didn't want to download or buy Microsoft Word, so he uses Google docs for free!

Quest Garden

Quest Garden is a really great tool for creating webquests. It's really cool that there are prompts, guides, and examples that make it simple for everyone to use. This 30 day trial will be cool to play around with, I really like that you can self assess as you go to create a great program. It's also really neat how you can insert images and upload documents linked to the web. Overall Quest Garden has made web authoring easy for all teachers to use.

CMS

I found the research on the three topics to be very interesting. It's cool that moodle is free and the google docs was awesome to type in with a group. It's so crazy how it updates as each member adds to the document. I think that will be very useful for group projects and communicating .
